When the pandemic started and everything closed a studio approached me and asked if I could put together an online submission competition for their dancers…. ABSOLUTELY!!
We partnered with Tribe of Lambs (an amazing Canadian Not For Profit) and launched our very first event “Performing for Purpose”. In exchange for a donation to Tribe of Lambs we gave dancers and studios the opportunity to send videos to Adjudicators for feedback.
There were prizes, there were insightful critiques and there was so much HEART in those submitted pieces!!! Some filmed in the studio, some braved the outside, and some in their living rooms- we loved every single one of them! Plus we, with the talented dancers across Canada, raised over $2600 for children living with HIV+.
